Pin Pilot Privacy Policy
Last updated: 24 October 2026
This policy covers MM Pin Pilot, a Chrome extension made by Philip Anders for members of the Merch Mastermind community. It explains what the extension does with data. Questions: philip.anders@outlook.com.
What Pin Pilot does
Pin Pilot helps a member share their own Amazon Merch designs on Pinterest. It runs inside the member's own Chrome browser. See philipanders.com/pages/pin-pilot for how it works.
Information and where it lives
- Sign-in: the member signs in with the email they use for Merch Mastermind. We check that email against the member list so only members can use the tool.
- Amazon data: the extension reads the member's own sales report and product pages from Amazon, using their logged-in browser, to choose which designs to pin. This data stays on the member's computer. We never receive it.
- Pinterest: the member connects Pinterest through Pinterest's own sign-in page. Our server only swaps the one-time Pinterest code for access tokens (this step needs our app secret) and checks that the person is a member. The tokens are returned to the member's browser and are not stored by us.
- Pins: pins are created only on boards the member chooses, and only after the member has chosen each pin, using Pinterest's official API. Board lists are read live from Pinterest when needed and are not stored.
- Local storage: settings, the list of designs, draft pins and posting history are stored in the member's own browser. Uninstalling the extension or pressing Sign out removes them.
- Optional AI features: if the member switches them on, pin images can be made with the member's own ChatGPT account or OpenAI API key, and pin text with the member's own Google Gemini key. The design image and text are then sent to that provider under the member's own account and that provider's terms. We do not receive or store them.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or share personal information.
- We don't store data obtained from the Pinterest API.
- We don't post anything to Pinterest that the member has not chosen.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the data we hold about you (your email on the member list), ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing philip.anders@outlook.com. You can disconnect Pinterest at any time in the extension's settings, or remove Pin Pilot's access in your Pinterest account settings.
Retention
Your email stays on the member list while you are a Merch Mastermind member and is removed when your membership ends.
Children
Pin Pilot is for adults and is not directed at children under 16.
Changes
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we will update this page and the date above.
